Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 June 2026
This policy explains how Solemn Legacy Limited handles the small amount of personal data we collect from you on this website, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.
At this stage, Solemn is a pre-launch website. The only personal data we collect is the name and email address you choose to give us when you join our waitlist. We have written this policy to be clear, plain, and honest about exactly what that means for you.
1.Who we are
This website is operated by Solemn Legacy Limited ("Solemn", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in the United Kingdom. We are the "data controller" responsible for your personal data, which means we decide how and why it is used.
You can contact us about anything in this policy, including any request relating to your data, at hello@solemnlegacy.com.
2.What data we collect
On this pre-launch website we only collect what you actively give us when you join the waitlist:
- Your name, so we can address you properly.
- Your email address, so we can send you the updates you signed up for.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, any sensitive information at this stage (for example financial details, health information, or documents). Our full product, when it launches, will handle such information under separate, dedicated terms.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type for security and to keep the site running. We do not use this to identify you personally.
3.Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use your name and email for one purpose only: to keep you informed about Solemn in the run-up to our launch in 2027. That includes:
- Confirming you have joined the waitlist.
- Sending you launch dates and timing updates.
- Sharing news about our product as we build it.
Our lawful basis for sending you these emails is your consent, given freely when you submit the waitlist form. Because this is direct marketing by email, we rely on consent under the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). You are never required to give us your data, and choosing not to has no consequence other than not receiving our updates.
We will not use your data for any other purpose without telling you first.
4.Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we never will. We share it only with the trusted service providers we use to run the waitlist, and only so they can perform that service for us. These act as our "data processors":
- Formspree (form submission handling), which receives your form entry and passes it to us. See the Formspree privacy policy.
- Our website host (Vercel), which serves this site and may process basic technical logs. See the Vercel privacy policy.
We may also disclose data if required to do so by law, or to protect our legal rights.
5.International transfers
Some of the providers above are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the providers' own safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved mechanism) to ensure your data receives an essentially equivalent level of protection. You can ask us for more detail at hello@solemnlegacy.com.
6.How long we keep it
We keep your name and email only until our launch is complete and you have had the chance to become a customer, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. If you withdraw consent or ask us to delete your data, we will remove it from our active records promptly, and in any case within 30 days, unless we are legally required to keep it. If Solemn does not launch, we will delete the waitlist.
7.How we protect it
We take reasonable and appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your data secure, including limiting who can access it and using reputable providers that encrypt data in transit. No system is ever completely immune from risk, but we treat your information with the care our brand is built on.
8.Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the following rights over your personal data:
- To be informed about how we use your data (this policy).
- To access a copy of the data we hold about you.
- To rectification, to have inaccurate data corrected.
- To erasure, to ask us to delete your data.
- To restrict or object to our use of your data.
- To data portability, to receive your data in a usable format.
- To withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it: click "unsubscribe" in any email, or email us at hello@solemnlegacy.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@solemnlegacy.com. We will respond within one month.
9.Complaints
We would always prefer you to come to us first so we can put things right. But you also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
10.Cookies
This pre-launch site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. If we add analytics or other cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Solemn grows and as our product launches. When we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know by email.
